Heritage Bank calendar helps Sunshine Coast community centre support people in need
A community centre for the Sunshine Coast’s homeless is now $3,975 better off, thanks to funds raised from Heritage Bank’s much-loved annual calendar.

A community centre for the Sunshine Coast’s homeless is now $3,975 better off, thanks to funds raised from Heritage Bank’s much-loved annual calendar.
Heritage recently presented the cheque to Dale Dowler from The Shack in Nambour which provides free one-on-one counselling, meals and assistance for the homeless and at-risk individuals.
The donation was a share of the funds raised by the sale of Heritage Bank’s annual calendar at branches all around southern Queensland.
The calendar is an annual tradition that started back in 1982. Each year, Heritage chooses a prominent Queensland house to feature on its annual calendar, to help celebrate excellence in local architecture.
Customers and community members can then obtain a copy of the calendar for a gold coin donation, with the proceeds then donated to a number of charities around southern Queensland.
Heritage Bank Northern Regional Sales and Service Manager Kylie Jackson said, “The team at The Shack, led by Dale and Donna Dowler, work tirelessly to assist the underprivileged, the homeless and victims of domestic violence, and also provide drug and alcohol support to people around the Sunshine Coast.”
“Thanks to the generosity of everyone who purchased our 2018 calendar, we’re able to help them continue their great work within the community.”
The Shack will use the proceeds from the 2018 Calendar to help stock their pantry to create more meals, assist with repairs to their facilities and allow a couple of underprivileged children to attend school camps.
