Participants at the 2022 annual Heritage Bank Charity Golf Day were part of something special as the event celebrated 25 wonderful years.

About 160 members of the business community took to Toowoomba’s City Golf Club on Friday December 2 to raise money for inspirational community organisations as part of Heritage’s 25th Charity Golf Day.

Over the past quarter century, the event has raised more than $1 million for about 130 community and charity organisations to support their incredible work.

This year's event will add about $50,000 to that tally, with money raised to help even more organisations deliver important services to the community.

Holding the Charity Golf Day over the past 25 years has demonstrated Heritage Bank’s genuine commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates.

“Every year I really look forward to our Charity Golf Day as it is a tremendous opportunity to raise some much needed funds for remarkable organisations out there making positive contributions to our community,” Heritage Bank CEO Peter Lock said.

“I’m thrilled the rain cleared for us to enjoy a round of golf on the beautiful City Golf Club course while we celebrate 25 years of this wonderful event.

“Holding this event each year is something that everyone at Heritage takes great pride in, especially our team of incredible volunteers who make the time to raise money and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.

“I also want to thank our generous sponsors who support the event and our efforts to raise money for some truly worthwhile organisations.

“With our merger with People’s Choice Credit Union coming into effect next year, this might be the last time this event will be called the Heritage Charity Golf Day, but our commitment to supporting the community will certainly continue.”
