Heritage Bank calendar donation boosts services at RSPCA’s Wacol centre

RSPCA Queensland’s furry friends are now $3,215 better off thanks to funds raised by the 2023 Heritage Bank calendar.

By simply purchasing a copy of Heritage’s annual House Calendar for a gold coin donation, the community has helped sponsor the ongoing operation and maintenance of facilities and services at the RSPCA centre in Wacol.

Heritage Bank Area Branch Manager Mariah Ballin said, “RSPCA Queensland does an amazing job raising awareness about animal welfare and caring for local wildlife and animals without homes.

“With the funds provided by Heritage’s donation RSPCA will be able to provide a two-night stay for 161 kittens, the cost of antibiotics for 57 animals for a week or feeding 17 rescued horses in need of specialist nutrition in care for a month.

“It was a delight to hear how far these funds would stretch in assisting such a worthy cause.

“RSPCA Queensland cares for over 45,000 animals every year, and with are 96% of its operations funded by donations, every dollar goes a long way in making a difference.”

In a much-loved tradition that began in 1982, Heritage selects a historically significant Queensland home to feature on its printed calendar each year. Copies are made available to the public for a gold coin donation, with proceeds donated to a number of charities around southern Queensland and New South Wales. Heritage began collecting donations for the calendar in 2006 and has since distributed over $383,000 to 73 community organisations.
