Twenty-two community groups from the South Burnett have shared in a massive $250,000 in grants from Heritage Nanango Community Branch.

Some of the initiatives supported include construction of an indoor stadium at the South Burnett Western Performance Club Grounds, Nanango’s 175th anniversary celebrations, shed upgrades at the Wattle Camp Rural Fire Brigade, kitchen upgrades at the Nanango QCWA and a videography project capturing the memories of longstanding Nanango residents.

Heritage Nanango Community Branch is a joint venture between Heritage, and the local community, represented by Heritage Nanango Community Funding Ltd (HNCF). Under the Heritage community branch model, HNCF’s share of profits is distributed back into community.

Since opening in 2001, Heritage Nanango Community Branch has given $5 million back into the community through grants and sponsorships alone.

Heritage Nanango Community Branch Manager Lochlan Ezzy said, “Together with HNCF, we’re thrilled to support some amazing local organisations through our community grants program.

“We’re only able to give back thanks to people doing their banking with us – it’s a true community effort and a fantastic example of locals supporting local.”

HNCF director, Jane Hodgkinson said “It’s heart-warming to see so many familiar faces and new friends at our grants ceremony, all united by a shared commitment to building a stronger and more vibrant community.”
